Tips On How To Be A Sustainable Traveller
Being a Sustainable Traveller, or Green Traveller, is more than just another travel trend. Travellers today are making an effort to lessen our footprint at home and while travelling
🌴Many airlines have Carbon off-set Programs for flights. Some airlines offer options to fly carbon neutral. How does it work? If you check the fly carbon neutral option, you pay a little extra and the airlines directly supports via donations toward protecting the region you are vacationing at.
🌴Use reef-friendly sunscreen. This is a suncream (mineral sunscreen) that doesn't have certain chemicals in it that will ruin your skin or the ocean and its beautiful aquatic life and reefs.
🌴Support the local community by dining at local restaurants. Buy your souvenirs from local markets and artisans.
🌴Pick your travel products wisely. It’s important to know that the products you use while on vacation will most likely be disposed of in that region. Avoid bringing aerosol cans, and sulfate shampoos. Using biodegradable soap, shampoo, and other products can ensure you leave the place you visit just as pristine for locals and future visitors.
🌴Bring your own water bottle. Bring a reusable water bottle or even a water filter so disposable bottled water does not have to be brought in for tourist consumption.
